9/11 and War Against Global Terror

Couple of days ago the world remembered the victims of the bombing of the World Trade Centre, Pentagon and other terror targets of 11 Sept 2001. This year was significant becase it was 5 years since the day. Its been 5 year since the world suddered at the horror of the incedent and over 5 years since the efforts to bring the perpetrators of this henious crime to justice started.

As of the day prior to the anniversary of the bombings one of the planners was back on TV continuing to saber rattle the world. The back ground to the video was a well stocked library which obvoiusly indicates that he is in some safe house and not running from the forces tackling terror. Part of the reason why some the the folks responsible for the attacks of 9/11 have not been brought to justice has been the necessisities of Business  and Foreign Policy. These necessities limit the action that countries can take against powers that are harbouring and aiding terror. A classic example of this nexus between business, foreign policy and terror has been the events that continue to happen in UK.

For a long time British government tried to maintain its preminance in the world by aiding, sheltering and financing "Freedom Fighter" from across the world. A large number of these elements have however today become a threat to the vary nation that had aided them and given them shelter. The same conflict of interest also happens to exist due in US where sosme of the global energy conglomarates are headquatered. Having said this its equally true that sosme of the largest companies across the world are infact partners with their Government and have made their considerable resources available for the Global War on Terror.

Terror in the name of religion is something that cannot be tolerated, especially if it encourages the spread of its message through the use of the sword or any other type of voilence. Such a religion should either reform and change its scriptures and actions of face and prepare for its distruction at the hands of a civilised world.

Its been 5 years and the memories of the events of 9/11 are still fresh as if it happended only yesterday. On 9/11/2001 as I say events unfolding on TV I had dreamt that the world will quickly deliver justice to the perpetrators of this henious crime. Today that dream still seems to be a far cry. Today there is disillusionment since it seems as if the House of Saud and the Bin-ladin family has bought life for Osama-bin-ladin by paying blood money to some one. Cynical as it may sound I often wonder what price did the powers to be fixed for approximately 3000 odd lives lost on 9/11.

The time has come for the most powerful democracy to decide on its priorities. Will is put business priorities before national priorities? Will the lives lost on 9/11 be avenged? Will Justice ever prevail?
